Provence Alpes Agglomération was created on 1 January 2017. The result of the
merger of 5 communities of communes, it is based on a vast territory rich in
diversity. Quality of life, cultural dynamism, services for the population,
green and spa tourism, economic expansion, a preserved environment... these are
the assets of Provence Alpes Agglomération, an attractive conurbation with a
wealth of potential. A tourist, economic, cultural and sporting capital,
Provence Alpes Agglomération comprises 46 communes and covers an area of over
1574 km² with a population of over 47,000. One in three Bas-Alpes residents live
here, while one in three residents of the conurbation live in Digne-les-Bains.
The surrounding natural heritage represents an exceptional setting that helps to
forge its collective identity. Providing a quality living environment, making
daily life easier for its users and supporting the development of businesses and
tourism are the priorities of the local authority.
